This vintage G.I. Joe collecting "INFOSITE" will help improve your collecting experience by answering questions about vintage 1960's GIJoe figures, uniforms and accessories. This is a website created by a vintage GIJoe collector for the benefit of other vintage GIJoe collectors. The information provided here will hopefully make the hobby of collecting GIJoe more enjoyable for you. Please remember that GIJoe and his accessories were made and sold long ago as toys and NOT collectables; to be played with, shared and enjoyed by people of all ages. Please enjoy collecting GIJoe and pass on that enjoyment to others!

THIS IS ONLY A PORTION OF THE AUTHOR'S VINTAGE GIJOE COLLECTION.

The only accurate measure of authenticity for vintage G I Joe can come from the existing sealed vintage packages remaining in circulation. By examining these sealed packages a person can learn a tremendous amount about what a genuine Hasbro® GIJoe piece should look like. The vintage packages are evidence of the heyday of toys in the 1960's. Books and hobbyists can speculate on the truth but these old vintage sealed packages are the only truth that still exists. This "INFOSITE" will show you most of those original sealed packages and hopefully teach you more about them and what Hasbro® wanted everyone to equip their G I Joe's with.

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY G. I. JOE !
There has never been an official birth date announced for our old action figure friend G. I. Joe. I would like to propose that February 9, 1964 be considered as his birthday, making him 50 years old in 2014. Most people acknowledge that G. I. Joe came out in 1964 because that is when he started showing up on the toy store shelves. I propose the February 9th date because that was the official opening of the 1964 Toy Fair, the Toy Industry show where companies introduce their latest products. At this show, G. I. Joe was was introduced to the world and that is kind of like the day he was born. It is also a curious date to remember since this was also the date that The Beatles were introduced in America; on February 9, 1964 the Beatles played live on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time.
